Darren and Alicia Banks met in 1995 in a small cafe in Larkspur, CA while attending college. Many years of friendship turned to romance and they married on the Caribbean island of Anguilla in 2005. Their love and passion for food grew as the years went on and they both dreamed of owning a restaurant in Marin. But in fall of 2013 while on vacation in Anguilla they visited a beach front restaurant for sale and fell in love with the idea of island life. They decided to leave CA and move to Anguilla where they opened SandBar a favorite restaurant of both locals and tourists alike. Life in the Caribbean was an amazing experience. A perfect place to raise a family. After 8 1/2 years they decided to return to Marin their old stomping grounds and take over the beloved Marché aux Fleurs. They look forward to continuing Marché's relationship with local purveyors and farmers. To support local small production wineries and local handcrafted beer, and maintaining that special experience everyone has come to love. Darren & Alicia are very excited to connect with this special and unique community, and with family and many friends in the area it truly feels as if they have come home.
